The Relationship between CarterCorson and a Small Magazine Publisher

Background:  The Managing Director of this small magazine publisher was concerned that one of the directors was repeatedly demonstrating behaviours that were not representative of the values and ethos of the company.  Feedback had been given to the individual over a 12-month period but the behaviours continued.

Solution:  The director concerned worked with a CarterCorson consultant on one of our high impact coaching programmes.  This programme is designed to develop a broad portfolio of effective interpersonal skills, further develop communication skills, interpersonal sensitivity, understanding the impact of behaviour on individuals and group dynamics.  We focussed on changing the director’s behaviours that were deemed unacceptable, but at no stage was the individual encouraged to be “someone else” just to be the best version of themselves.

Outcome:  The director was able to modify their behaviour and contribute so much more to the business - much to the delight of the rest of the Board and the rest of the company affected by the issue.  The success of the intervention resulted in two other directors being coached by our consultant as well as a relative of the MD who owned a small marketing company.

We maintain close working relationships with the company acting as a sounding board and offering corporate problem solving on a regular basis.
